MEGA UPATE (v1.1.0)


Hello Again!

When I originally released CranKnight, I gave myself a short time limit of 2 months to make a small game. I had a lot of ideas, and a much more ambitious vision, but I wasn’t able to implement it all in that time. Since then, I’ve received tons of great feedback and support from players, which has given me the energy to try to implement all the ideas I originally had. I’m happy to say that release 1.1.0 fully realizes my vision for CranKnight. I’ve added a lot of stuff (see the full release notes below), which makes it feel like a brand new game! 
I’m super excited to share this release, it’s been a long time coming. I really just want to thank everyone who supported CranKnight, either through buying, spreading the word, or leaving a comment, it means so much to me!

Full Release Notes

  • New game mode, Random! After clearing the game once, you can select this new game mode from the title screen by hitting the left or right arrow. In this mode, upgrades and rooms will be randomly selected, adding a new challenge to the game, and potentially helping you find new weapon combos you never thought to try!
  • New upgrade, Amulets! Build up power by spinning, then unleash it when fully charged by pressing ‘A’ and ‘B’ at the same time for an interesting effect!
  • Added new Rooms! Select the room to change up the enemies you fight and new includes stage hazards
  • There are now over 50 weapon upgrades! New upgrades to weapons, and reworking / rebalancing of old ones. 
  • Added new enemy types and reworked some of the existing enemies
  • Added a new armour upgrade type
  • Updated and added new cheevos
  • Reworked some condition types and condition criticals, and added new conditions
  • Updated pause screen during gameplay to include controls and amulet information
  • Updated pause screen during main menu to display gameplay statistics
  • Damage scaling was changed slightly; heavy weapons now do more damage the closer they approach top speed
  • Added more feedback when the player gets hurt
  • Slightly increased spin speed when using A and B buttons
  • Spinning with A and B buttons now frees you from webs faster
  • Weapon rotation and projectile shooting is more accurate now
  • Version 1.1 was built with Playdate SDK version 2.7.5. Please update your playdate to version 2.7.5 or later to play the new version.
