Dino Cleanup (Prototype Demo)
Toxic goop has spread across the dinosaur land! Suck up the mess with your trusty vacuum and save the dinosaurs trapped in the muck. Explore multiple levels full of physics-based fun in a 3D world with 2D pixel sprites!
Dino Cleanup is a clean-a-thon platformer with physics-elements and a retro aesthetic. The goal of the game is to reach the end of each level, but there are also hidden golden dragonflies to collect, and a reward for fully cleaning each level!
This is a really early prototype demo showing the basic loop of the game, but everything is subject to change as I’m still developing. If you enjoy this demo, or have any feedback, please comment, share it with your friends and wishlist to show your interest 🦖❤️
- Explore 7 levels by platforming and interacting with physics objects using your vacuum, and be rewarded for cleaning each level fully

Mouse & keyboard are supported, but game controllers are highly recommended! Note steam may interfere with controllers. If you have weird behaviour with controllers, either close Steam or turn off Steam Input in: Steam > Settings > Controller > Desktop Layout [Edit] > Disable Steam Input.
There are in-game tutorials on how to play, but the starting controls for mouse and keyboard are as follows:

The Windows / macOS versions of the game are the recommended way to play! You cannot save the game in the Web version. If you encounter performance issues with the Web version, please download the Windows or macOS version.
Note that because this is an early demo, all content is subject to change in the final Steam release, and save files will not be transferable. The full Steam release is currently targeting Windows and macOS platforms.

- Unzip the .zip file
- On Windows, run "Dino Cleanup Demo.exe"
- If you get a "Windows protected your PC" prompt, click "More Info" and "Run anyway"
- If you run the game through the itch.io app you won't see this warning

This was a lovely demo!! I think this is going to turnout a wonderful game :]
I ran into a big bug though-- I downloaded the demo as a .zip I extracted, but when I tried to delete the unzipped file, it tells me I don't have permissions to access the file. So far, there's no way I've found to remove the program from my computer. Otherwise, I had a great time! I streamed it for my friends and they liked it a lot! Here is my feedback, I hope this is helpful. We are excited to see what you do next!!
Positive: The art is excellent! It's very cute. I like that it looks unique. The egg rolling and physics aspects are fun too.The characters are very sweet and friendly! The whole game has a very welcoming ambiance.
Feedback: The walking speed of Dino compared to the size of the map makes each level take a long time. I enjoyed the gameplay loop, but wish it was a little quicker. I don't understand the point of regular dragonflies on the map yet. Using the camera rotations is a neat idea for the maps and I like that, but the button system right now is a bit inconvenient.

For the deletion issue, that’s really strange, I haven’t seen that from anyone else I saw playing the game, maybe try restarting your computer and retrying deleting, in case some process is using something in that folder still?
That’s really cool you and your friends enjoyed it, that means a lot! I definitely agree with the maps either being too big or the player being too slow, I have some ideas about how to handle that. As for the camera rotation, I’m actually planning on taking out being able to rotate it, but you can still zoom in and out. It’ll look more like paper Mario 64 distance wise. You can see some new scenes on my socials if you’re curious. As for the dragonflies, the full game will have an NPC you trade them for hats! For the demo, they’re just a collectible to get for some extra challenge / content.
